Ritalin

(and other psychostimulants)

This is what CHADD has to say about them. This is from the ‘FAQ’ page at their website.

“Are psychostimulants such as Ritalin safe?"

"Hundreds of studies on thousands of children have been conducted regarding the effects of psychostimulant medications, making them among the most studied medications in pharmacological history. Relatively few long-term side effects have been identified. Most problems related to these medications are mild and short-term.”

Here's an additional comment from Dr. Russell Barkley, the author of the 'International Consensus Statement on ADHD'.

"Widely considered the world's leading expert on ADHD, Barkley calls Ritalin, which has been prescribed safely and effectively for more than 40 years, "safer than aspirin"."

Is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder just an elaborate hoax?

IS Ritalin safer than aspirin?

No, it isn’t, according to information I obtained from the chillingly named Death From Ritalin website.

This is their response to the contention that “The medication (e.g., Ritalin) is a mild stimulant with few or no side effects.”
